SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) -

Investigators say 17 people have been arrested in an alleged West Texas methamphetamine distribution ring focusing on the San Angelo area.

Tom Green County Sheriff David Jones said all of the suspects are charged with organized criminal activity - distribution of methamphetamine. Jones says some defendants will likely face additional charges.

Authorities said 13 people were arrested Monday. Four suspects surrendered Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Billy Bloom said investigators found drug ledgers during the arrests that were handwritten or in computer files.

The sheriff said the arrests could also provide leads in cases involving thefts, burglaries, counterfeiting and weapons trafficking.
