The rivalry between the Abilene High Eagles and the Cooper Cougars goes back more than 50 years. It's always the game that has everyone talking.

"Nowhere else in the state of Texas do you have a rivalry that can match Cooper and Abilene," said Shotwell announcer and County Commissioner Chuck Statler.

Friday marks the fifty-second time the two teams have sqaured off.

Though Cooper has more overall wins against Abilene, the Eagles have one seven of the last eight rivalry games.

In 1965, the teams experienced their only tie game.

Statler's prediction for this game: "I would say the team that has the most touchdowns is going to win."
