April off to good start with Big Country rainfall totals

ABILENE, Texas -

Showers and storms began Monday night in the Big Country and are expected to continue to bring rain through Wednesday evening.

Severe storms brought hail and gusty winds to parts of the area Monday and Tuesday evening, but much of the area received needed rainfall.

A slow-moving cold front sparked storms Monday night and an approaching upper level storm system allowed showers and storms to continue Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here is a look at some of the rainfall totals from Monday through 9 am on Wednesday across the Big Country.

These totals will increase from any rain the Big Country receives Wednesday.
