An accident in Callahan County on Wednesday killed one and injured two.
The accident happened just after 1 p.m.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Joshua Hernandez, 23, of Rising Star was driving south on Farm Road 2228. Freddy Thomas, Jr., 40, of Baird was driving north on the same road.
Investigators said Hernandez drifted into the northbound lane. Thomas tried to avoid collision by swerving into the southbound lane. Hernandez realized his mistake and went back to his original southbound lane, causing the vehicles to hit head-on.
Amber Thomas, 40, was a passenger of Freddy Thomas. She died at the scene.
Both drivers were taken to Hendrick Medical Center. Investigators say Freddy Thomas, Jr. had internal injuries. Hernandez suffered from a back injury.
The accident is under investigation.
