Dual credit courses and agenda boundaries high on AISD agenda

ABILENE, TX -

Dual credit courses may receive a boost and elementary school boundaries could be going into effect.

Both were hot topics on the Abilene ISD school board agenda review Monday night.

The board listened to a presentation about proposed changes to their dual credit course program. These courses qualify for college credit, but unlike advanced placement classes, they don't affect your G.P.A.

If adjustments are made, the G.P.A. will be weighted not quite as much as AP courses.

Also, after weeks of school boundary meetings with the public, the compiled data is ready to be reviewed.

"You'll see a report that will be presented to the board reflective of the input we received from the various public hearings and the feedback we received from the community via the website," said AISD Associate Superintendent of Operations Scott McLean.

McLean anticipates a decision will be passed down at Monday's school board meeting.
