William Travis Butler

EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas -

A man wanted for attempted murder has been found in Eastland county.

The Eastland County Sheriff's Office says William Travis Butler was riding with 58 year old Deborah Partin Thursday morning.

The sheriff's office says the two got into an argument. Deputies then say Butler slashed Partin's throat, and stabbed her several times.

He's accused of leaving her for dead on the side of a road.

The sheriff's office says Partin flagged down a driver for help on county road 375 in southern Eastland county.

She was flown to a hospital and is in good condition.

Deputies say Butler then went on the run.

Just before  5pm Thursday, the Eastland county sheriff says Butler surrendered. He was found in a cemetery not far from where the attack happened.

A Texas Ranger made contact with Butler's brother. Sheriff Wayne Bradford says, the two convinced him to give up.

Two school districts, Rising Star ISD and May ISD, were locked down for a brief period Thursday morning.
