Former ACU student shares story of hope years after being paralyzed
Former Abilene Christian University student, Nika Maples, was paralyzed years ago, but she isn't letting that stop her.
Maples had a lupus-induced stroke that led to quadriplegia when she was a sophomore at ACU.
Monday she visited with ACU students to share her story of hope and recovery.
Maples is now a motivational speaker and discussed her new book “12 clean pages” with students at ACU.
She went on to get her M.A. in English education at Columbia University and teaches 5th grade language arts and social studies in Keller.
