Gun lovers raise money for West Texas Rehab Center
Saturday marks day two of the West Texas Rehab's 11th Annual Clay Shoot.
Hundreds of gun lovers came out to Abilene Clay Sports to raise money for the Center. People went from station to station, loading rifles and shooting rounds.
The West Texas Rehab Center is a private, non-profit that provides outpatient services to children and adults with disabling illnesses and injuries. This is one of their many fundraisers. The two-day event expects to see about 500 people.
One of the founders of the event said it started with only 100 people participating.
"Just to see it grown and see the sport grow," said West Texas Rehab Director of Donor Relations Dan Huggins. "It's been incredible. It's something people like to do, get out in nature, have a little fun and shoot the shotgun."
The center hopes to raise $175,000.
