ABILENE, Texas -

Over six inches of rain was measured in central Mitchell county Friday at a site 11 miles south of Westbrook.   This very heavy rainfall caused Beals Creek to flood for a time.  However, the warning was lifted Friday night.

Some of this Mitchell county rain is flowing into the Colorado River.  A flood warning is in effect for the portion of the river in Coke county upstream for E. V. Spence Reservoir through Sunday morning.

Street flooding occurred in Abilene around lunchtime Friday.  Several farm to market roads were closed due to high water in Concho and Tom Green counties Friday evening.
