An ex-employee of an Abilene assisted living facility was indicted Thursday for allegedly using a patient’s bank account to pay for his cell phone bill.
David Hancock, 32, was arrested in October 2012 after the victim’s son realized the unauthorized charge on her bank account.
The victim’s son told police she had been admitted to The Monarch House in June 2012 due to her deteriorating mental condition. He moved her to another facility in September.
According to police, Hancock confessed to the crime.
A Taylor County grand jury indicted Hancock for the exploitation of an elderly individual.
