If Santa Claus did not bring you what you needed or wanted this year, you may want to consider donating your gifts to a good cause.
Goodwill of West Texas and The Salvation Army are always accepting donations, especially during the winter months.
"Anyone that receives anything over Christmas that they might not need or want, we're always accepting donations of any kind," Lindsey Trook with The Salvation Army said. "So Christmas toys, clothes, furniture."
The Salvation Army's Family Store is open to virtually any kind of donation, especially during the winter.
"All of our proceeds that come into our family store come right back into funding the Salvation Army programs," Trook said. "So our feeding programs that are higher right now, of course because of the cold weather, our shelter. All of the money from our family store will go right back into all of those programs."
Goodwill of West Texas is another option and one some people are already taking advantage of.
"Somebody got a new 52" TV, so they donated to Goodwill their 32" TV with a remote and a manual and everything," Goodwill of West Texas Director Cindy Haley said. "So goodwill is a great option for people who maybe don't want to wait in the return lines. Your donations provide opportunities to people with barriers to employment. We put people to work, it provides jobs."
Both organizations provide pick up services for donations and provide donation receipts to file with your taxes.
