The Big Country may not be considered the fashion capital of the world, but boutique owners in Sweetwater are changing that.

The owners of Paradise Boutique are celebrating after a pair of their custom made boots made a splash on the Fox Television show American Idol this week.

A few weeks ago, the Idol entourage of contestant Janelle Arthur contacted Jacqi Martinez and Sheretta Johnson; she wanted the boots to wear during the "Rocka and Roll" segment of the competition.

"When she came out on stage I couldn't even hear, i was like Ahhhh! And it showed the boots up close and everyone was like 'Oh my God,'" said Johnson.

The sisters opened the boutique a decade ago. After their parents retired, their Mother encouraged them to open a retail store.

"We've always been glitzy and blingy probably because our Mom loved jewelery and sparkles," said Martinez.

After ten years of struggles and successes, the women saw their hard work pay off.

"I cried the whole time because this was not an overnight thing for us," said Martinez. "There were so many blood sweat and tears that came before that."

Orders keep pouring in for the custom made boots.

"It's been crazy! The phones have been ringing off the hook!" said Johnson.

Getting a pair for yourself may take awhile, as the boots are covered in Swarovski crystals. The owners say that's not an easy task.

"It is time consuming, done by hand. Each crystal put on one by one," said Martinez. They have a wait list that continues to grow.

Because every pair is different, the prices on the boots vary, from the hundreds to the thousands.
