Trent to hold bone marrow donor drive to support school board member
The small town of Trent is getting together to host a bone marrow donor drive to help a member of their school board.
Joe Seaton is currently fighting leukemia. He is the father of five, a member of the Roadhouse Fellowship Cowboy Church, and a Trent ISD School Board member.
Supporters Rachel Byers and Teresa Jones visited KTXS Thursday morning and spoke about Seaton and the bone marrow donor drive.
The drive runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Trent ISD. The school building is located at 12821 East off Interstate-20.
According to the press release, Seaton is in need of a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. The drive will help potentially find a donor, and add more people to the registry to help others.
The drive is with Delete Blood Cancer KDMS, the world's largest bone marrow donor center. Over three million potential donors are registered. The group has facilitated over 30,000 bone marrow transplants.
