Miguel Martinez, 49, was shot and killed by two Abilene police officers on North 17th Street. Police said they shot him after he pointed a gun at them.

ABILENE, Texas -

Two Abilene police officers who shot and killed a man in August have been cleared of wrongdoing by a Taylor County grand jury.

In August, police responded to a disturbance call at a house on North 7th Street.

Miguel Martinez, 49, was fatally shot by the two officers after police say Martinez pointed a gun at them.

Police said Martinez was attempting to break into his estranged wife's house.

An autopsy of Martinez showed he had cocaine, alcohol, and prescription drugs in his system. The autopsy also verified that Martinez had been shot six times in the chest.

The officers involved in the shooting are back on duty.
