Abilene City Council to consider Cobb Park revitalization plan, future of Lincoln Middle School

The Abilene City Council will consider - on second reading when it meets Thursday - a plan to revitalize the Cobb Park area.
This plan would spruce up the area and make chances better for the Abilene Housing Authority to get a tax credit, that could bring two, new affordable housing units to north Abilene.
Also Thursday, the council will decide whether or not to hire an architect to take a look at how best to re-purpose Lincoln Middle School.
Ownership of that property has been transferred from the Abilene Independent School District to the city.
The Abilene Police Department is requesting to file an application for a grant; the APD wants to use the grant money to buy a modern target system with moving capabilities for their firing range.
