From Abilene Police Department spokesman George Spindler:
At about 9 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Stan Meiser responded to a disturbance in-progress at a residence in the 4600 block of Margaritas Way. APD dispatch had been notified by a calling party that a woman had been assaulted with a wine glass. Officer Meiser contacted the involved parties and his preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation between the female victim, age 65, and her daughter had transpired. The altercation escalated into violence when the suspect struck her mother with a wine glass. Other involved parties at the scene kept the victim and suspect separated pending police arrival. The victim had injuries consistent with the assault allegation and they consisted of small cuts. Officer Meiser reported that the suspect was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for the offense of felony Injury to Elderly.
At about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Carye Adkins attempted to contact a known fugitive at a residence in the 1700 block of Birchwood. The male fugitive had an outstanding parole arrest warrant for attempted capital murder/carrying prohibited weapon, drug related warrants and two local municipal warrants. Officer Adkins was able to make contact with the subject, but as he and other officers attempted to place the subject into custody, the subject resisted and began fighting with them. The subject was eventually placed into custody and arrested for his warrants. The subject even attempted to flee while in custody. The subject was also arrested for misdemeanor Resisting Arrest.
At about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Chris Volirakis responded to a public intoxication call at a hospital in the 6200 block of Highway 83/84. Officer Stan Meiser was at the hospital at the time and notified APD dispatch about a female that had been brought to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment related to her intoxication. However, the female subject refused to obey instructions and became verbally abusive to the hospital staff. Officer Meiser determined the subject was intoxicated and was refusing treatment. Attempts to place the subject into the custody of a responsible party were unsuccessful. Officer Meiser also reported that the subject had contacted Dispatch via 911 on multiple occasions without providing proper information. The subject was arrested for Public Intoxication.
