UPDATE: Victims of accident on Ranger Hill identified

EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas -

A major crash on I-20 on Ranger Hill killed four, injured three.

The accident blocked travel on I-20 for a few hours for about five miles. Both lanes are now open.

Below is the press release from the Department of Public Safety:

The Texas Department of Public Safety was notified of a major crash on Interstate 20 in Eastland County. The crash occurred at 1:47 P.M. at mile marker 360 (Ranger Hill), eight miles east of Ranger, Texas. A large truck was traveling east, down the steep grade when the driver lost control and the vehicle traveled over the concrete center barrier, overturned and struck a Honda passenger vehicle and a Ford Pickup traveling west. The large truck came to rest in the north ditch.

Vehicles Involved;

Vehicle # 1 was a 2006 International Truck driven by Edward Joseph Hallahan, 22 years of age from Denton, Texas.

Vehicle # 2 was a 2011 Honda driven by Hugo Marin Ulloa, 34 years of age from El Paso, Texas.

Vehicle # 3 was a 2008 Ford Pickup driven by Glyde David Henry, 65 years of age from Midland, Texas.

DECEASED;

  1. Hugo Marin Ulloa, 34 years of age from El Paso, Texas (driver of the Honda) was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:58 P.M. by Judge White. The body was taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas.
  2. Erika Valenzuela Ulloa, 34 years of age from El Paso, Texas (passenger in the Honda) was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:58 P.M. by Judge White. The body was taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Texas.
  3. Max Ulloa, 3 years or age from El Paso, Texas (passenger in the Honda) was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:58 P.M. by Judge White. The body was taken to Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger, Teas.
  4. Glyde David Henry, 65 years of age from Midland, Texas (driver of the 2008 Ford Pickup) was taken by helicopter to Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells where he was pronounced dead at 3:05 P.M. by Dr. Jones. The body was taken to Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office in Fort Worth.

INJURED;

  1. Janet C. Henry, 62 years of age from Midland, Texas (passenger in the Ford Pickup) was treated and released at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
  2. Travis Devon Justice, 25 years of age from Walnut Hill, Florida (passenger in the 2006 International Truck) was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
  3. Edward Joseph Hallahan, 22 years of age from Denton, Texas(driver of the International Truck) was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

The weather was clear and the road was dry. This crash is under investigation by Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Robert McGrath.
