The ban on outdoor burning in Taylor County has been lifted.
County Judge Downing Bolls ordered the change Friday, noting it is being lifted as a result of rainfall over the past 24 hours.
Taylor County commissioners instituted the ban on Tuesday, but gave Bolls the ability to lift it if he deemed it appropriate.
"Although I do not encourage burning at this time unless it is essential, I continue to caution all citizens of Taylor County to exercise great caution with outdoor burning and to assume responsibility to contact your local fire child and have safeguards in place before attempting any burning," Bolls said in the order. "Any citizen who chooses to continue a burn is liable for any and all damages caused as a result fo that burn."
