Brownwood organization holds candlelight vigil to raise domestic violence awareness

BROWNWOOD, Texas -

October is domestic violence awareness month, and a Brownwood organization is making an effort to inform more people about the issue through events like Thursday evening's candlelight vigil.

The Ark Domestic Violence Shelter in Brownwood is holding the vigil at Howard Payne University's Girling Center for Social Justice. The building is an extended part of campus located on Austin Avenue. The vigil starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free to the public.
