ABILENE, Texas -

A group of Wylie ISD students and teachers spent Saturday raising money for students to compete in Destination Imagination Global Finals.

Destination Imagination is an international tournament for kids around the world that helps kids discover their creativity.

This year six teams from Wylie ISD have been invited to the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee at the University of Tennessee. The students teamed up with Casa Authentique to raise money for the trip. For $50 to $100 customers could get the Toms brand of shoe specially painted. The downtown boutique donated $5 for each pair that was bought to be painted.

The is the most amount of teams the school has ever sent to Global Finals. Mayor Norm Archibald has named Monday, May 20, Destination Imagination Day. The students competing will attend the City Council meeting.
