Abilene council to decide whether to give pipeline company use of city street

Two weeks after the Abilene City Council tabled the issue of giving out a street use license to a pipeline company, it's back on the table.
BridgeTex wants approval to use street right-of-ways to install an oil and gas pipeline under Thompson Parkway in far south Abilene. The pipeline will go from Colorado City to Houston, moving 3,000 barrels a day.
Abilene City Manager Larry Gilley told KTXS News that council members had tabled the issue because BridgeTex hadn't fully submitted all documents needed. All documents have now been submitted, and the city is recommending approval of the license.
The Abilene City Council will vote Thursday morning.
