Cowboys visit San Diego, may shorten western camp
The Cowboys will open the preseason at San Diego on a schedule likely to mean a shorter stay in California for training camp.
Dallas has a home game against Baltimore the second week before traveling to Miami. The Cowboys would double the length of their trip to Florida if they returned to camp in Oxnard, Calif.
The Cowboys spent almost four weeks in California a year ago. The stay could be around two weeks this year.
Denver's DeMarcus Ware, the franchise sacks leader in Dallas, is set to visit his old home but probably won't play in the preseason finale. Ware signed with the Broncos after the Cowboys released him.
Dallas has no preseason games scheduled for national television.
