Dyess Spouse's Club brought military families together Saturday for the organization's annual auction.
The event was held at the Abilene Country Club and included dinner along with a live and silent auction that raised money for scholarships benefiting military children and spouses.
The auctioned items were donated by Big Country residents and local businesses.
Angela Witkowsky, president of the Dyess Spouse's Club, said each year the auction has raised more money than the last.
"Each year we try to raise as much money as we can for military spouses and children who are looking to get their undergraduate degrees," Witkowsky said. "Last year we raised $15,000 and the year before we raised $16,000. We're hoping to top both those tonight. I really would love to see $20,000."
