AUSTIN, Texas -

(AP) - A newborn baby is resting comfortably after his mother went into labor and had to be airlifted over flooded roads in Central Texas.
Jamie Jatzlau's water broke at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, as storms pounded much of the area. For six hours, emergency crews tried to get to Jatzlau's home to take her to the hospital, but surrounding roads were flooded.
Finally, a helicopter took Jatzlau to an area hospital at about 6 a.m. Thursday. She gave birth to a baby boy four hours later.
Had the helicopter not made it, Jatzlau and her husband, a trauma nurse, would have attempted a home birth.
They tell Austin television station KXAN that Trent Maverick Jatzlau was born with his umbilical cord around his neck, which would have made that dangerous.
