College graduation is a milestone years in the making. Howard Payne University seniors will be celebrating that this weekend as their time comes to move on to bigger and better things.

"It's scary," HPU English senior Courtney Wilmoth said. "I'm nervous to be away from my friends and the community that I've built here and to be kind of on my own. It's like you have to start over."

Some of the seniors said they're ready to graduate and enter the real world, despite feeling butterflies. However, they say they're not feeling butterflies about finding jobs despite the low economy.

"I'm ready to start making money," HPU business senior Blake Gribble said. Gribble said he already has several job prospects in mind.

Full-time workers with college degrees reportedly earn about 80 percent more compared to those with high school degrees.

HPU general studies/psychology major Joshua Snow said he also has a job lined up, at least for the summer. He said he hasn't looked too far down the road.

For now, HPU seniors want to enjoy the present before it becomes their past.
