The "League of United Latin American Citizens" Council 605 is doing its part to help AISD students get ready for back to school.
The annual "Back to School Rally" will be held next Saturday at Cesar Chavez Park at 1 p.m.
There will be drawings for schools supplies as well as bicycles and backpacks.
The rally includes free hotdogs, chips and juice for the students and parents who accompany them.
Besides the drawings, students and their parents will get to listen to Abilene Independent School District staff and Community Leaders who encourage students to stay in school and overcome obstacles they may face through the year.
The program also includes Safety City law enforcement officers who will give a presentation on bicycle and pedestrian safety.
The Council is asking for financial donations for food and school supplies.
