New center opens in Abilene to help with teen suicide prevention and awareness

ABILENE, Tx -

Abilene Behavioral  Health opened a new resource center Wednesday to help with teen suicide prevention and awareness.  It's called the JFI Community Resource Center.

The center is affiliated with the Tennessee based Jason Foundation.

The Texas Youth Risk Survey reported:

  • Almost 1 out of 6 teens considered suicide in the past 12 months.
  • Almost 1 out of 9 teens had attempted suicide in the past 12 months.
