People all over Abilene are thinking about what they want to accomplish in life thanks to the "Before I Die" campaign. Mission Abilene started this campaign here, but there are churches all over the country that are part of this movement.
It’s a board that says "Before I die I want to____." How did people in Abilene fill in the blank?
"I want to travel the world," said Brody Welch who wrote on the board in the Mall of Abilene.
Each answer is unique and yet relate-able. Some of them are more adventurous.
"Before I die I want to bungee jump," said one man.
Other responses focus on reaching a goal.
"Before I die I want to go to the U.S. Open," said McMurry University tennis player Lauren Renner. “Specifically, when Federer is still playing in it.”
Many people said they want to help others.
"Before I die I want to be able to help the hopeless," said Destiny Hamby. "Because I once was hopeless and I didn't know anything."
The “Before I Die” boards were originally going to be up until the end of February, but the Mission recently extended it until the middle of March.
They are at places like the mall, Sharon’s Barbeque, and Abilene Christian University. People said when it's staring you in the face, you can't help but wonder how you would respond.
"I think it'd be really cool just to see what other people want to do before they go," said Welch. "It makes me kind of think about life and how short it is."
