A pilot has escaped injury after his single-engine plane flipped while taking off near Waco.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say crosswinds caused the aircraft's left wing to hit the ground and turn upside down late Wednesday afternoon about six miles east of Robinson in McLennan County.
The plane is used for agricultural and pest control purposes by a company based in Hearne, near College Station.
The 49-year-old pilot was the only person aboard the crop duster and wasn't hurt.
Authorities said federal aviation officials will investigate but the government shutdown means in inspector may not arrive for another day or two.
