SAGINAW, Texas (AP) -

Investigators have been removing items from the home of the teenager suspected of killing a 6-year-old North Texas girl whose body was found in a tarp.

Tyler Holder remains hospitalized but officials have refused to release his medical condition.

Authorities say he was shot Tuesday after he opened fire on officers trying to serve him with arrest and search warrants.

The Arlington detective who was seriously wounded was recovering Wednesday in a Fort Worth hospital.

Holder lives two doors down from Alanna Gallagher's home in the Fort Worth suburb of Saginaw. Her body was found about a mile from her house July 1 stuffed in a trash bag and wrapped in a tarp.

An affidavit says the girl had been sexually assaulted and Holder's DNA matched evidence on her body.
