This week, we honor a special teacher: Coach Ronnie Lowrance of Munday. He grew up in the town. He passed away this past September at the age of 45 from an apparent heart attack.
Students came together to nominate their coach, teacher, and friend who they say was always joking and happy. Several of his players also say he was like a father to them.
Those he worked with say he was the go-to person that was always dependable and fun at the same time.
Lowrance coached his son, Mitchell, a sophomore in football and track. Mitchell says he sometimes stops in his father's classroom to reflect and remember him.
We thank Coach Lowrance for his outstanding example both in and out of the classroom.
