BUFFALO GAP, Texas -

Bicyclists will have the chance to show off their speed at the Tour De Gap Saturday morning. This is the 30th anniversary of the race in Buffalo Gap.

"We have a lot to do tonight, It'll be a late night," said Jim MacDonald, owner of Biketown which is hosting the race.

Friday they were putting the finishing touches together in Buffalo Gap, setting up the start and finish lines and stuffing registration packets.

Almost 300 had registered by Friday and they expect several more to sign up on site Saturday morning.

"We love to see people out on bicycles. We love to have beginners get out there and learn and see how much fun it can be and what a good family time it can be," said MacDonald.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the West Central Texas Food Bank and if the past is any indication, they should be able to donate a good chunk of money.

"We’ve grown it every year. Last year we were just over $10,000 that we raised for the food bank directly," said MacDonald.

There are four tracks for riders to choose from. Everyone should expect to roll out from the start line around 8 a.m.

"This year is the 30th year for Tour De Gap and we have lots of cool things at the rest stops, good pickles to eat and we have frozen grapes and we have all kids of things that we're giving away," said MacDonald.

The fun doesn't end right after the race either. There will be food, raffles and prizes at the pavilion.

You can still register Saturday morning at the event for $40 if you haven't had a chance to already. You will need to be at the registration desk between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. and don't forget you're helmet.
