The mall is getting crowded, stores are advertising sales, and people everywhere are starting to shop for the holidays.
The holiday season is sometimes referred to as “the most wonderful time of the year," but for those who live near the Mall of Abilene, it's also the busiest. All that shopping has led to congestion in the streets surrounding the mall.
"It is a madhouse if all the people and all the drivers would just be courteous, we would have a much better holiday season," said Darlene Simpson who said she avoids the mall area after Thanksgiving.
How can you make sure to stay safe and keep from becoming a Scrooge behind the wheel this holiday season?
"If they're dealing with the struggles and the frustration and the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season, you need to tell yourself right now that you're going to be around congested malls and shopping areas and why put a lump of coal in your spirit when you know that the best thing you can do is just to be patient, patient and even more patient," said Abilene Police Department Spokesman Officer George Spindler.
Spindler also said if you are leaving a congested area and it is hard to make a left turn, think about going right instead of fighting with other cars on the road.
