ABILENE, Texas -

A motorcycle club president is out on bail following his arrest in connection to what police described as a gang-related stabbing Saturday at a south Abilene restaurant.

Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, police said the two victims are being evaluated at a local hospital but are in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Sgt. Lynn Beard, witnesses saw the Bandidos and the Cossacks motorcycle clubs fighting in the Logan’s Roadhouse parking lot around 1:45 p.m.

Beard said Bandido President Jack Lewis, 46, was charged with aggravated assault after he was interviewed at the Taylor County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with second degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail at the Taylor County Jail was set at $125,000. He bonded out within 24 hours of his arrest.

“We don't have a lot of run-in's with them, with either side really,” Beard said. “But obviously what happened today is extremely concerning. It won't be tolerated—we're not going to tolerate gang fights in the middle of a restaurant parking lot in the middle of the day. It will be dealt with swiftly. So that message needs to be communicated clearly. That won't be tolerated."

Beard said officers have not yet determined which motorcycle club initiated the fight; however, the two victims were with the Cossacks. He said the police department needs help from the public.

“We know there were people in the restaurant eating at the time and we'd really like to speak with them,” Beard said.

Beard said information will be kept confidential. If you have any information, you can call the Abilene police non-emergency number at (325) 673-8331 or report anonymous tips to Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325) 676-TIPS.
