ABILENE, Texas -

The 30th annual Western Heritage Classic began Thursday night with a parade through downtown Abilene.

More than 100 entries were included in the parade, ranging from tractors and bands to politicians hoping for your vote on Saturday.

The parade, and the street dance that followed, were the official kickoff to the three-day event that takes over the Taylor County Expo Center.  It’s an event that brings in thousands from across the country.

The list of one-of-a-kind experiences at the Western Heritage Classic is long: From the Ranch Rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights to the Chuckwagon Cookoff Luncheon on Saturday.

Here is a link to the official site, where you can also buy tickets for various events.

The Western Heritage Classic parade will be aired on KTXS TV at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
