Abilene man, 29, indicted for committing crimes while eluding authorities

Kenneth William Shults, 29, of Abilene was indicted during May 2014 for allegedly committing crimes while eluding authorities for days. Shults led authorities on a multi-county,, high-speed chase in February.

ABILENE, Texas -

A 29-year-old Abilene man who allegedly tried to run over a sheriff's deputy and eluded authorities for days was indicted Thursday.

Kenneth William Shults led authorities on a multi-county, high-speed chase in February, police say.

Shults was indicted on charges that included aggravated assault on a public servant, aggravated robbery, possession of methamphetamine and evading arrest.

According to authorities, Shults was a suspect in a robbery in Taylor County and eventually led them on a high-speed car chase through multiple counties while committing several felonious crimes while on the run.

Taylor County sheriff’s deputies captured him at the Alamo Motel without incident.
