Wylie High School student Montell Whitney, 17, was arrested for second-degree felony sexual assault/rape May 7, 2013.

ABILENE, Texas -

A Wylie High School student was arrested for second-degree felony sexual assault/rape Tuesday.

According to an arrest record, 17-year-old Montell Whitney was arrested at the Taylor County Law Enforcement Center after Abilene police detectives interviewed him.

Whitney allegedly sexually assaulted a female, who was under the age of 18. Wylie ISD officials said Friday the alleged assault did not occur on campus. They will not comment on whether the victim was another Wylie ISD student.

He was booked into the Taylor County Jail Tuesday and posted his $9,000 bond Wednesday.
