President Barack Obama is expected to make two more additions to his Cabinet this week when he names a commerce secretary and U.S. trade representative, two Democrats familiar with the discussions told CNN Monday.
The likely picks for Obama are Chicago businesswoman Penny Pritzker for commerce secretary and current White House adviser Michael Froman for trade representative, the two sources said.
Pritzker is chief executive of the Pritzker Realty Group and is one of the wealthiest women in America. Forbes estimates her fortune at $1.85 billion, making her the 271th wealthiest person in the country.
She is also a philanthropist and major Democratic donor who acted as the national finance chair of the president's 2008 campaign and a campaign co-chair in 2012.
Froman currently serves as the deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs. In that role he has served as a liaison to the G8 and G20 summits, and advised the president on international finance. He was an executive at Citigroup and a Harvard Law School classmate of Obama.
Obama is expected to nominate Charlotte, North Carolina, mayor Anthony Foxx as his transportation secretary Monday afternoon.
