Anthony Domol: Scattered thundershowers Tuesday

Today we are tracking sunshine to start our Tuesday followed by an increase in cloud cover for the afternoon hours with scattered thundershowers in the forecast.
As has been the case in recent days, we will see some wet weather become possible in the mid-afternoon through mid-evening time frame. Today, however, it appears that coverage of rainfall should be a bit better than in days past. Not all areas will get wet but heavy downpours will be possible where the convection does develop. With increased cloud cover and prospects for rainfall, temperatures will be held in the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.
Tonight look for any showers to dissipate as we lose the heating of the day leaving partly cloudy skies overnight. Lows will drop into the upper 60s.
Wednesday high pressure will begin to settle back in once again and limit rain chances. A slight afternoon thundershower cannot be ruled out as a moist feed off the Gulf continues, but most hours will be dry with temperatures returning to near 90 degrees or slightly above.
High pressure really starts to gain control from Thursday through Sunday. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions are likely each day with temperatures getting back into the lower 90s. Rain chances look to be very low. A cold front may approach on Monday with renewed thundershower chances.
