ACU baseball in tie atop LSC, no time to let up
If the regular season ended today, ACU baseball would finish in a tie for the regular season title in the Lone Star Conference.
At 21-12 overall (9-3 LSC), the Wildcats have found an impressive rhythm in its final season as part of the LSC. They've won 8 of their last 10 games, and the pitching staff has limited opponents to two or fewer runs in half of those games. All of those games were wins.
With a handful of teams still upcoming on their schedule, head coach Britt Bonneau says his team will not let up.
"We got 15, 16 seniors that we're wanting to get out there and try to win them a conference championship. We know there's a lot of work to do. Right now we seem to have found our groove and we're just moving forward through it. Hopefully over the next 12, 15 games we'll be able to continue our winning ways," Bonneau said.
ACU opens a series with West Texas A&M later this week. They will also face Tarleton State, which holds a share of the conference lead with the Wildcats, starting April 19th.
