Erin Walker has accomplish more than any other girls tennis player at Abilene High.
From winning the district 3-5A freshmen of the year in 2009 to fishing at the 2012 state runner-up in girls singles, Walker has left quite a mark in Abilene High's record books.
On Tuesday, November 20th around 1:30pm Walker signed a national letter of intent to play with Abilene Christian University. The signing is sentimental for her not just because she'll continue her tennis career in her hometown, but she's now the third member of her family to join ACU on the tennis court.
Erin also joins her father John Walker who is currently an assistant coach at ACU.
"It's great to have her there, we left it up to her to the decision, and we're glad she did."
Erin admits that she didn't bother visiting any other campus, despite many schools contacting Abilene high head coach Stacy Bryan to recruit Erin.
"I just really like it there," says Walker. "I like being there, I just enjoy it."
"It's a great opportunity I feel like for her," says John, Erin father. "We're glad she's made the decision to stay here in Abilene."
