AUSTIN, Texas -

The University Interscholastic League made several changes to their constitution and contest rules, after the changes were approved by their legislative council.

One amendment was passed that creates a new 6A classification in football starting in 2014...and every class moves up one step. 6-man becomes class 1A, 1A becomes 2A, 2A becomes 3A.  3A becomes 4A, 4A becomes 5A, and 5A becomes 6A.

Several other amendments were passed in academics, music, and athletics.

Here is a link to the official UIL document with all of the approved changes.
