ABILENE, Texas -

The ACU Wildcats got their busiest week of the season off to a good start Tuesday night as they knocked off the pesky Lady Rams of Texas Wesleyan, 93-69, in non-conference women's college basketball action at Moody Coliseum.

The Wildcats outscored Texas Wesleyan 42-21 over the final 13:45 of the game to turn a close game into a blowout as they improved to 7-3 on the season. The Lady Rams – who kept the game close throughout the first 26-plus minutes of the contest – are now 5-5 with the loss.

ACU will continue its busy week Wednesday at 7 p.m. when it takes on TCU in Fort Worth at Daniel Meyer Coliseum. Following that game, the Wildcats will head to Lubbock where they will play in the Basketball Travelers Invitational over the weekend. ACU will play Florida Atlantic at 8 p.m. Friday, Jacksvonville (Fla.) at 12 p.m. Saturday and Texas Tech at 2 p.m. Sunday.

All three games will be played at the United Spirit Arena on the Texas Tech campus and will be carried live on the ACU Sports Radio Network. The first two games will be broadcast on KTLT 98.1 FM, while Sunday's game will be broadcast on KHXS 102.7 FM.

In Tuesday's win over Wesleyan, the Wildcats led just 51-48 with 13:58 to play after a Krissy Parker free throw. But that was the last time the Lady Rams would be that close.

ACU went on a 20-2 run to push the lead to 71-50 with 8:49 left in the game. Alexis Mason got it started with a 3-pointer at the 13:45 mark and Suzzy Dimba ended the spurt with a layup to give ACU its first 20-point lead of the night.

Jessica Elkins buried three 3-pointers in the run for 11 points, while Lizzy Dimba and Suzzy Dimba each had seven points in the spurt. Whitney West had two 3-pointers and eight points in the run. The Wildcats hit seven 3-pointers in the run as they buried 15 of 42 in the game, their second-most makes and attempts in a game this season.

Mason finished with a team-high 17 points on 5 of 12 shooting (4 of 10 from 3-point range), while West and Renata Marquez each had 15 points. Marquez also had 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Lizzy Dimba had a career-high 17 points (11 of 15 from the free throw line) off the bench, while Elkins finished with 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting (4 of 7 from 3-point range).
