Hardin-Simmons' football team and university community is mourning the loss of teammate, classmate and friend Taylor Huff, who passed away early Sunday morning in an accident that is still being investigated.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Taylor's family," said head coach Jesse Burleson. "He was a great young man that had overcome some real adversity in his life to get where he was. He was extremely unselfish and caring. We are so proud he is a part of our program. It is a sad day to be a Cowboy, we are hurting but we will get through this together."

Huff was a senior member of the Hardin-Simmons football team where he played wide receiver. He has played in eight games this season for the Cowboys and has three catches for 34 yards. He played in 19 career varsity games.
