ARLINGTON -

Texas Rangers right-hander Alexi Ogando has gotten an injection in his right shoulder and will miss his scheduled start Monday against Houston.

The Rangers said Saturday after Ogando got his injection that Matt Garza (2-1) will move up a day to take his spot. Garza will be pitching on regular rest since the Rangers had an off-day after his last start Wednesday night.

Ogando has inflammation around a nerve in his shoulder, and the Rangers are hopeful that he will miss only one start. He had a CT scan after complaining of soreness in his shoulder a day after throwing 73 pitches over 6 1-3 innings in a loss to Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Manager Ron Washington hasn't said who will now pitch Tuesday night, when Garza was scheduled to start.
