Stepping into Stamford’s lead role after back to back state championship appearances could seem daunting to some. But for Bo Wimberly, it's the beginning of an era he's ready for.
"When it's crunch time he's gonna put us on his back, and he's gonna find a way to win," said Head Coach Wayne Hutchinson. "That's the way he's been raised and that's just the way he is."
Wimberly forced an all night attack on the Colorado City Wolves. He scored in every quarter in their 53-14 victory.
In the first half, he kept it on the ground, and rushed for two touchdowns. In the second half, he aired it out, going nine for 15, three of those passes were touchdowns.
"It's a great honor to have this and be recognized like that," Wimberly said.
Stamford takes this honor into their fiercest competition yet. They play also undefeated Cisco on Friday at Chesley stadium.
