Anthony Domol: Tracking Tuesday Big Country warmth
Updated On: Oct 01 2013 07:44:03 AM CDT
Today we will have lots of sunshine once again with above normal temperatures near 90 degrees. Our average high for the First of October is 82 degrees. South winds will be breezier at 15-20 mph.
Tonight the quiet weather rolls on with clear skies in the forecast. Increased moisture content in the air and south winds from 10-15 mph will keep temperatures milder than previous overnights with a low in the upper 60s expected.
Wednesday and Thursday also look like they will produce a good amount of sunshine with just some passing clouds possible. No rainfall is expected either day. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees on both afternoons. South winds will remain breezy from 15-20 with gusts to 25 mph. Overnight lows will be near 70 degrees.
Friday we track a cold front approaching West Central Texas. The latest thinking is that the passage of the front will hold off until later in the evening allowing daytime high temperatures once again to soar to above normal levels. Some isolated showers and thundershowers will be possible with the approach of the cold front. Expect overnight lows Friday to cool into the mid 50s after the cold front passes.
The upcoming weekend will be much cooler behind the front with temperatures in the mid 70s on Saturday and the upper 70s to near 80 degrees on Sunday. A few showers could hang around for southern sections on Saturday, while sunny skies should be widespread by Sunday.
