Anthony Domol: Tracking warming into mid-week

A definite change in the weather pattern was seen this past weekend across West Central Texas. After a high temperature of 90 degrees on Friday afternoon, we only managed to climb as high as 63 on early Saturday evening. Quite the temperature swing! Sunday we started with a morning low of 44 and saw beautiful conditions unfold in the afternoon rebounding to 75 degrees - still well below normal.
Today we will watch readings already returning to normal levels and then getting into above normal territory heading into the next several days.
This afternoon expect sunny skies with highs near 80 degrees or slightly above. Clear skies will remain tonight with a cool low in the lower to mid 50s.
Tuesday and Wednesday the warming trend continues with highs climbing into the middle 80s. Sunny and dry conditions will dominate the weather scene. Lows will be in the middle 50s on Tuesday night and upper 50s to near 60 degrees on Wednesday night.
Thursday into Friday we expect to see breezy southerly winds bringing more moisture to the atmosphere and allowing for a few more afternoon clouds to come into the mix. Though most of us will stay rain-free right on through this period, a dry line shower or thundershower cannot be ruled out on Friday afternoon. Highs Thursday will be in the middle 80s, while Friday looks to climb into the upper 80s. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s both nights.
The weekend ahead shows a good chance for showers and thundershowers on Saturday as a cold front nears the area. A slight chance for a shower will also be carried into Sunday as well. A good deal of cloud cover is expected with highs in the lower 80s on Saturday and the upper 70s to near 80 on Sunday.
