ABILENE, Texas -

An increase in cloud cover is in store for Tuesday with rain chances tonight.

After a mostly clear and muggy start to the day, we'll see highs warming into the low 70s. Cloud cover increases throughout the day as moisture filters in from the south.

Later today, a cold front will push through, bringing about a wind shift and rain chances. The best chances for rain will be south of I-20 later tonight as the front continues to move through.

We'll start your Wednesday around the low 40s with a northeast wind at 10 to 15 mph. Mostly clear skies are on tap for Wednesday with highs warming to around 70 degrees.

Clouds roll back in as temps cool to the low 50s. Southeast winds are on the breezy side at 15 to 20 mph.

Thursday, warm weather is back in the forecast with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s. The dryline will set up to our west so we could see a stray afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

Thursday night we'll cool into the mid 50s under cloudy skies. By the afternoon we're back to around 80 degrees. A weak cold front moves through Friday night with lows cooling into the upper 40s.

High Saturday will warm to around 70 but a reinforcing blast of cold air will make for a cold night as we cool into the upper 30s.

Sunday, we'll warm to the mid 60s before cooling to around 38 Sunday night.
