Showers likely starting Sunday night
Rain chances will be going up drastically Sunday night across West Texas, which could bring some relief to a long dry spell.
It will be partly cloudy and dry once again Saturday night though with temps falling into the mid 20s with light southeast winds.
It will be partly sunny on Sunday, but expect increasing cloud cover around with the next approaching storm system.
Highs should still be able to reach to about 50 degrees.
That system will bring a good chance of rain to the region Sunday night through Monday.
We are not anticipating stormy weather and should see mainly just light to moderate showers.
As the system pushes east we may see some sunshine appear Monday afternoon allowing temps to get back into the low 50s.
As that upper level low moves east most moisture should exit our area as well.
So as a strong cold front moves through the region early New Years Day we are anticipating a dry passing.
We keep just slim precip chances in the forecast in case we do see some lingering moisture.
